We are looking for an experienced Head of Product to lead product development focused on increasing farmer engagement with our service. You’ll determine the key drivers of user engagement, covering the whole user lifecycle from onboarding and activation to retention.
You will be part of a cross-functional growth squad that includes marketing, data analytics and engineering, and you’ll drive a test and learn approach to product development in order to prioritise initiatives that have the biggest impact on engagement. Initiatives could include coming up with an onboarding comms flow that encourages farmers to ask questions, or developing a loyalty programme to reward knowledgeable farmers for sharing information.
The role can be based in either London or Nairobi, with travel between the offices as needed. Wefarm is growing rapidly and the Head of Product - Growth will play a key role in increasing our understanding of user needs and shaping our future product offering.
Identify our key user segments, their needs, and the biggest drivers of long term farmer engagement with the Wefarm service
Work with a cross-functional squad of marketing, data and engineering to determine the highest priority initiatives to increase user engagement and satisfaction
Ensure that we have relevant customer touchpoints for each stage of a user’s lifecycle on Wefarm
Define the product vision and roadmap for how we evolve the Wefarm service from SMS-based to multi-channel (SMS + online)
Manage product development priorities for our data science and development teams
At least 5 years product management experience, with strong coaching and mentoring abilities to get the best out of your team
Good understanding of user behaviour and the ability to translate that into product functionality that meets the needs of key user segments
A data-driven mindset, with demonstrated success in launching product features that improve key metrics
Comfortable with agile development practices, with a collaborative approach to working with development teams
Enjoy working in a start-up environment and not afraid to jump in and get things done

As a global business, travel is essential to who we are, and will be a perk of the job. We also host an annual whole company get together (Wecamp), previously held in Kenya and Uganda. In addition, we have flexible working environment (within reason of course!), and we value spending time together - boarding the weekly lunch train, sharing some drinks on a Friday and frequent social events throughout the year.
