Wefarm, the world’s largest farmer-to-farmer digital network, enables farmers to connect with each other and key partners over SMS to solve problems, share ideas, obtain vital products and services, and spread innovation, through utilising the latest machine learning technology.


Small-scale agriculture is the biggest industry on earth, with more than a billion farmers globally supplying 70% of the world's food and commodities, yet remaining digitally unconnected. Until Wefarm, no other had built a digital platform for these farmers to share their vital insights, without having to go online!


Since our launch in 2015 we have grown to serve 1.9 million farmers across the world, who share more than 30,000 Qs & As per day. Wefarm has recently secured $13 million in Series A funding from some of the world’s leading VCs, including True Ventures in Silicon Valley, and we are looking to add to a world-class team based across London, Nairobi, Kampala and Dar-es-Salaam.

The role

We are looking for an experienced account manager to lead on managing Wefarm’s relationship with a portfolio of key partners from across a broad range of sectors including agriculture, logistics, FMCG, ICT and telecoms. You will be in charge of building long-term, trust centred relationships with partners whilst, seeking to increase the value of each partnership for our farmers, Wefarm and the partner.


Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the lead point of contact for a portfolio of partner accounts
  • Support the creation and implementation of the next iteration of Wefarm’s account management strategy
  • Work with internal colleagues and external clients to deliver strategic projects and client partnerships to a high level, ensuring optimum client satisfaction
  • Generate sales among partner accounts, including upselling and cross-selling
  • Create trusted relationships by creating an optimal partner experience
  • Communicates partner needs and demands to cross-functional teams within Wefarm
  • Forecast and track partner account metrics
  • Work across multiple partners concurrently, often meeting tight deadlines
  • Keep records of client transactions - develop best practices to foster, manage, and track processes and opportunities.

Job requirements

  • 3-5 years proven work experience as in account management or equivalent
  • Excellent presentation and project management skills
  • Demonstrate ability to communicate client needs with internal staff and present and influence key stakeholders at all levels of an organization, including executive and C-level
  • Demonstrate ability to manage multiple projects and relationships simultaneously
  • Demonstrate the ability to think strategically and tactically to make the best of every situation and opportunity
  • Extensive experience with negotiating, evaluating/assessing risks, and problem-solving.
  • Knowledge of the way that major global companies operate and of the landscape which underpins the major distributor, manufacturer and retail sectors
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Ideally, a good understanding of the markets in which Wefarm operates
  • Experience of using Salesforce or similar CRM

The total rewards package and remuneration will be based on experience and potential, but is highly competitive and will include share options. We believe in our team being not only the executors of Wefarm’s visions but the makers and owners of it!


As a global business, travel is essential to who we are, and will be a perk of the job. We also host an annual whole company get together (Wecamp), previously held in Kenya and Uganda. In addition, we have a generous pension package, flexible working environment (within reason of course!), and we value spending time together - boarding the weekly lunch train, sharing some drinks on a Friday and frequent social events throughout the year.
