Wefarm, the world’s largest farmer-to-farmer digital network, enables farmers to connect with each other and key partners over SMS to solve problems, share ideas, obtain vital products and services, and spread innovation, through utilising the latest machine learning technology.


Small-scale agriculture is the biggest industry on earth, with more than a billion farmers globally supplying 70% of the world's food and commodities, yet remaining digitally unconnected. Until Wefarm, no other had built a digital platform for these farmers to share their vital insights, without having to go online!


Since our launch in 2015 we have grown to serve 1.9 million farmers across the world, who share more than 30,000 Qs & As per day. Wefarm has recently secured $13 million in Series A funding from some of the world’s leading VCs, including True Ventures in Silicon Valley, and we are looking to add to a world-class team based across London, Nairobi, Kampala and Dar-es-Salaam.

The Role

We are looking for a Marketing Manager to join our Tanzania office, to build our marketing team and strategy. The successful candidate will be responsible for the go-to-market strategy, design of campaigns, and media channel buying in-country, as well as working with local agencies to support our communication efforts.


Key Responsibilities

  • Create and deliver a marketing strategy that will help us build our brand in the market in order to drive user acquisition, engagement and commercial goals.
  • Work with central marketing teams and local agencies as needed to design and deliver marketing campaigns and assets to achieve the objectives of your strategy.
  • Identify the right media channel mix to reach our users, looking and the full spectrum across things like TV, radio, catalogues, events, digital and social, and then manage the purchasing on those channels.
  • Ensure all work is positively increasing brand perceptions for Wefarm in the area, both in terms of how they feel about the brand, and how they understand our value proposition.
  • Report on the results of you campaigns against business metrics, ensuring a clear return on investment is possible on all activities
  • Ensure budgets are sufficiently managed to plan, and are tracked appropriately with our finance team.


Job requirements

  • At least 3 years of marketing experience.
  • Good planning and coordination skills.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Experience in social media use and executions.
  • Education background in marketing, business or related course, would be an advantage.
  • Willingness to travel around the country occasionally to execute events and radio show interviews as and when required.

The total rewards package and remuneration will be based on experience and potential, but is highly competitive and will include share options. We believe in our team being not only the executors of Wefarm’s visions but the makers and owners of it!
